Alabama native, Tiera, has been singing ever since she was a little girl. Her voice has been described as rich and soulful. She decided to consider music as a career when she was about thirteen years old and she taught herself how to play the guitar by watching YouTube tutorials. Tiera began to perform at local festivals and coffee shops around the Birmingham area and eventually earned a spot to perform at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, Tennessee.
Tiera has performed at many of the popular venues around Nashville including the Row, the Commodore Grill, returned trips to the Bluebird Cafe, and the Listening Room Cafe with the Song Suffragettes. In August of 2016, Tiera was chosen as the Song Suffragettes #LetTheGirlsPlay Artist of the Month. Tiera was interviewed by Billy Dukes who noted that Tiera “Seems to be an old pro already, as skilled with a pen as she is with a guitar or microphone.” Recently, Tiera opened up for the country music group Shenandoah at the Helen Keller Festival in Tuscumbia, AL and the Charlie Daniels Band at the Sweetland Amphitheatre in Lagrange, GA to a crowd of 2,500 people. In November 2017, Tiera was featured in a cover of “Female” by Keith Urban Urban with the Song Suffragettes. The cover immediately gained the attention of the Today Show, Rolling Stones, and the Washington Post.
Tiera has been working on new music at the legendary FAME studios in Muscle Shoals where artists like Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Shenandoah, and Jason Isbell have recorded. She has now set her eyes on Nashville – Tiera has been recently moved to Nashville to further her country music career. Tiera also has a thriving social media presence. She currently has 16K followers on Twitter and 13K on Instagram. She posts weekly #minicovermonday videos on her Instagram page and some of those covers have caught the eye of Darius Rucker, Cam, Kelleigh Bannen, and Carly Pearce. Tiera has already had significant success in the music business, but she is just getting started.
ABOUT THE SINGLE
“Wake Up Call” is Tiera’s most recent release since the release of her acoustic EP in 2015. Tiera attended college in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, home of the legendary Fame Studios. Tiera wrote and reordered multiple songs with her cowriter and producer, Noah Shell. Noah and Tiera wrote about 20 songs together during her time in the Shoals. When it came time to choose which song was to be released as the first single, “Wake Up Call” was a no brainer. The song stems from a relationship Tiera had in high school but she believes the song has a much deeper meaning as well. The central meaning of the song is of independence and empowerment.
