Midland, one of the most exciting and fastest rising bands in country music, sold out their recently announced headline show at London’s Omeara on Monday 12 March within 15 minutes of tickets going on sale – proving they are making as big as splash this side of the pond as they are in the U.S.
Midland make their eagerly-awaited live debut in the UK and ROI at C2C 2018, playing SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Friday 9 March, Dublin’s 3Arena on Saturday 10 March and London’s O2 Arena on Sunday 11 March.
Made up of singer Mark Wystrach, lead guitarist Jess Carson and bass player Cameron Duddy, a trio of friends based in Dripping Springs, Texas, Midland – who took their name from a Dwight Yoakam song – is the embodiment of Seventies California country, all smooth Eagles harmonies and heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics. Their songs are intoxicating country sung with the twang of George Strait. And it’s impossible to resist.
Debut album On The Rocks, a collection of 13 tracks all written or co-written by Midland, entered at number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums sales chart in the US, amid rave reviews both sides of the Atlantic. Shortly beforehand, platinum-certified, first single ‘Drinkin’ Problem’ topped the US country radio airplay chart, with second single ‘Make A Little’ following in its footsteps.
