Perth-Born Artist Karin Page On The Move With New Single ‘Wherever You Are’

unnamed-16The second single and video clip release from 2016 Toyota Star Maker Karin Page is sure to hit home with anyone who’s ever been a little homesick. Karin says ‘Wherever You Are’ weaves its way through the feelings and emotions that are experienced when you are in a particular place, but at the same time longing to be elsewhere.

“I co-wrote this song with Byron Hill while I was in Nashville,” Karin said. “Although being over there was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, it was also an extremely busy time for me and I was longing for the peacefulness of my beautiful home back in Byron Bay.”

Her Nashville sojourn was part of Karin’s Toyota Star Maker prize package, where she was given the opportunity to perform at the CMA World GlobaLive! Showcase. This special event was a gateway concert to the 44th CMA Festival concert (courtesy of a generous sponsorship by Tamworth’s Chris Watson Travel Partners). Karin was thrilled to perform alongside Canadians Raquel Cole, Chad Brownlee and Brett Kissell; Frankie Davies and Pauper Kings from the UK; Kayla Mahon from New Zealand; and fellow Aussies Troy Cassar-Daley and Caitlyn Shadbolt. Another highlight of her Nashville experience was singing at the iconic Bluebird Café and co-writing with some of Nashville’s leading song-scribes.

During her Star Maker year, Karin has been mentored in the business by Lee Kernaghan, arguably one of the most successful to wear the Star Maker crown. The accompanying clip, once again directed by The Filmery’s Josh Favaloro, expertly and beautifully conveys the meaning of the song.

Originally from Perth, WA, Karin made the move east to Byron Bay earlier this year, but has hardly had time to unpack her boxes and suitcases and truly appreciate the peaceful surrounds of this coastal retreat. A seasoned traveller, Karin’s been making the most of her Star Maker year, seizing every opportunity that comes her way as she clocks up the kilometres in her trusty Toyota. She climbed on board the McClymonts express, as the award-winning sister trio’s support act, winning over a legion of new friends and fans along the way.

Her third and final single and video clip, part of her Star Maker prize package, will be released during the festival.
