2016 Billboard Music Awards – Country Round-Up

The 2016 Billboard Music Awards took place on 22nd May at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The ceremony brought together some of the biggest names in the world of music, featuring performances from Madonna and Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber and many more. Nominations for the awards are based on US year-end chart performance according to Nielsen data for sales, number of downloads and total airplay.

Thomas Rhett, Chris Stapleton and Luke Bryan each took home one award from this year’s ceremony. Thomas Rhett won Top Country Song for his smash-hit #1 single ‘Die A Happy Man’, Chris Stapleton won Top Country Album for ‘Traveller’ (of course!) and Luke Bryan won Top Country Artist. Little Big Town were also nominated for the Billboard Chart Achievement Award but were beaten by Rihanna.
