Alana Springsteen has shared her brand new single, “California,” available now at all streaming platforms and digital retailers.
Co-written and co-produced by the 20-year-old on-the-rise talent, who also contributes the ringing acoustic guitar, “California” credits Jerry Flowers (Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood) and Jared Keim (Rascal Flatts, Restless Road) as both her co-writers and co-producers.
“Sometimes you get so beautifully lost in a moment that the lines around love get blurry,” Springsteen shares. “Is it the person? Is it the place? Or is it the way everything around you collides in the most beautiful way for a minute? When I was recording this song and shooting this video, I hoped it would take people back to whatever that moment was for them.”
The music video for “California” was filmed along the picturesque west coast. “‘California’ is just as much about the connection between two people as it is the connection between a person and a place,” Springsteen revealed to ET Online. “In order to capture the essence of this song, we knew we had to physically be there.”
Picking up the guitar at seven and writing her first song by age nine, the Virginia Beach native felt the pull of Music City with every new lyric she wrote, making an official move at 14 and landing a publishing deal almost immediately. Recently releasing “Trying Not To (feat. Roman Alexander),” Pandora’s 2021 Country Artist to Watch has surpassed 25 MILLION on-demand streams in just over a year.
