Introducing C2C pop-up stage artists Ashton Lane!
SINGLE RELEASE & C2C PERFORMANCE
Ashton Lane will release their song ‘One Kiss Later’ as a single on 11th March 2016, along with exclusive B-side tracks including an acoustic version, radio edit and another song ‘One Day’. The song is a fan favourite, taken from their latest album ‘Nashville Heart’ (5* – Maverick Magazine) released late in 2015, and was presented with an Honourable Mention in the International Songwriters Competition. The single is available for pre-order through iTunes, and will be made available to stream on Soundcloud on Monday 22nd February 2016 at 12pm GMT.
The band have also confirmed a string of tour dates, including their performances at the Country to Country 2016 (C2C) festival in London: they will play Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday 12th March, and the Big Entrance Stage on Sunday 13th March.
The band Ashton Lane formed after singer-songwriter Esther Duffin met her now husband Tim O’Connor at one of her solo gigs down a cobbled Glasgow street (also called Ashton Lane). Their creative partnership was immediately obvious, as well their connection over what they value in life, and the street where they met seemed like the perfect name for their band.
Esther O’Connor’s musical heritage however spans right back to her childhood. She remembers being out on tour at only 5 years of age with Elton John on a US tour accompanying her Dad’s band Wet Wet Wet. “The feeling of the live shows and the love of travelling got under my skin very early” says O’Connor. “I loved everything, from the hotels, to turning up early in the venue for the sound checks, and the catering. It was all great fun from start to finish, and I definitely got bitten by the bug!”.
Soon after Esther and Tim married, they established their record label Redhed Records and 2015 saw the couple release their 5th studio album ‘Nashville Heart’ on their own label. They perform regularly as a duo and at times as a 3 piece when Graeme Duffin (Wet Wet Wet) joins them as guest guitarist.
Having toured the length and breadth of the UK, extensively throughout Europe, and gigged in Nashville, Tennessee, Ashton Lane have also achieved considerable success online with over 1.5 million views of their Youtube “Kitchen Sessions”, over 40,000 twitter followers and a large following of dedicated fans. Ashton Lane are part of a new wave of homegrown modern country music originating in the UK.
Following the release of ‘Nashville Heart’ at the end of last year, the band are kicking off 2016 with a performance at C2C, a string of UK dates, and later in the year will set out on a fifteen-date tour across Denmark, Germany, Finland and Holland.
