Brett Young Earns 4th #1 On Country Radio With ‘Mercy’

ACM Awards New Male Vocalist of the Year Brett Young has earned his fourth consecutive chart-topper as “Mercy” summited the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Young and Sean McConnell co-wrote the “favorite among his dedicated fanbase, [and adding to] his No. One habit” (Tennessean), joined three consecutive No. One Country Airplay releases. The heartfelt ballad also reached the PLATINUM-sales benchmark and bolsters his catalog to over one billion in total streams.

“We knew pretty early that ‘Mercy’ had to be a single because of the way the fans respond when I played it live,” Young said. “I wrote this song from a really vulnerable and honest place, so to see it go No. One is really special.”

Young will perform “Mercy” this week on “CMA Fest,” the Music Event of Summer, on ABC this Wednesday, August 8 at 8:00PM ET / 7:00PM CT. Billboard called the live appearance at the annual event in June a “standout moment.”
