Hailey Whitters generated quite a buzz with the release of her album The Dream back in 2020, particularly in the UK, where listeners truly seemed to resonate with the charm, vulnerability and honesty of the Iowa native’s song writing.

C2C gave us the opportunity to experience a Hailey Whitters live show for the first time, and it was everything we expected it to be – cheerful, engaging and straight-up country from an artist who clearly relished the chance.

Backed by some of the Flatland Cavalry gang, Hailey’s set was unfortunately cut short a little due to some technical issues before the show, which was a great shame as she made a great connection with the O2 crowd before departing.

Kicking off with the fantastic and utterly infectious “Fillin’ My Cup,” she brought a lovely and much-needed traditional vibe to the main stage and got the audience singing along from the off. Weaving her way into the fans’ hearts in the style of old-school Kacey Musgraves, she delighted the early birds with a performance that was more than worthy of a big arena stage. Throw in a cover of “She’s In Love With The Boy” for good measure, and you can’t really go wrong, can you?

The highlight of the set was the fabulous “Janice At The Hotel Bar.” Written with legendary songstress Lori McKenna, it has her fingerprints all over it. The magic you’ll find in most Lori McKenna material is there in abundance; just about as good as it gets in country music

Closing with another favourite from the album, “Heartland,” Hailey had warmed us up for the evening in style. This was just a snippet of what she has to offer, and hopefully it won’t be too long until we can see a full set of her own.

Set List:

  1. Fillin’ My Cup
  2. How Far Can it Go? / She’s in Love with the Boy
  3. Everything She Ain’t
  4. Janice At the Hotel Bar
  5. Heartland
