Charlie Worsham has weathered the pandemic “with a little help” from his friends (watch his take on the Beatles classic HERE), and now he’s thanking all of the essential workers keeping us safe with his version of David Bowie’s “Heroes”.
The latest addition to Worsham’s collection of cover challenges, which premiered this week on Circle TV, highlights fans in the medical community who are working on the frontlines of COVID-19.
“One thing I think we can all agree on is that this global pandemic highlights the courage and selflessness required of frontline healthcare workers to do their jobs,” Worsham said. “We owe them a debt of gratitude always, but especially right now. I’ve always loved the song ‘Heroes’ by David Bowie, and I think it’s the perfect song to thank these people for their incredible sacrifices. I’m so happy that we were able to receive photos and videos from everyone so we can hopefully shine a little light on them, and we can hopefully bring a few smiles to folks at a time when they really need it.”
The cover was mixed by Jordan Lehning and the video produced by Sam Siske. Worsham, who is currently nominated for his first ACM Award for Specialty Instrument Player of the Year, provided acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, programming, mandolin, shuitar, keys and vocals.
