Country Music Round Up (10th April)

If you are planning visiting Nashville later this year, check out the new Patsy Cline Museum which is due to open late summer/early fall. Work begins in June and is the latest venture for Bill Miller, the founder of the Johnny Cash Museum in downtown Nashville.

Exhibits will include cutting edge sound and video technology and Patsy’s family have donated artefacts from their personal collection.

Followers of the last ever US American Idol will know that the series winner was Trent Harmon and the runner up was La’ Porsha Renae, both natives of Mississippi. The good news is that both have been signed by Scott Borchetta for Big Machine Records and even more good news – Harmon’s debut single ‘Falling’ was co-written by Keith Urban, Dallas Davidson and Brett James.

Martina McBride has been announced as a performer for the forthcoming ‘Grammy Salute To Music Legends’ which takes place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. More performers are due to be announced shortly.

New music expected shortly! Kenny Chesney will release ‘Small Town’ on the 8 July. Cole Swindell ‘You Should Be Here’ will be with us on the May 6 and Drew Baldridge’s new album ‘Dirt On You’ will be released on June 10.

Our current recommendations for April include the new album from Lainey Wilson ‘Tougher’, Austin Allsup’s ‘This Weary Land’ and Levi Hummon’s debut 5-Track EP. Full reviews are coming.

Also, congratulations to William Michael Morgan who is now the proud father of a baby girl. Check out his superb 6 track EP. It’s one of the best releases of the year.
