JASON MICHAEL CARROLL – ‘TELL ME YOUR NAME’ (DIANE’S SONG)
Diane is Jason Michael Carroll’s motherin-law who has been battling Alzheimer’s Disease, and the song describes the impact that this has had upon the family.
It’s his first single in almost 10 years. He was previously signed with Arista Records but left the label in 2009 and has been generally inactive in terms of new music since.
His first two singles back in 2006/2007 attained Top 10 status on the US country charts.
ERIN ENDERLIN – ‘GIVE MY LOVE TO ROSE’
February 26th 1932 was the birth date of country legend Johnny Cash. To acknowledge the 90th anniversary, Erin Enderlin has released a cover of one of his biggest hits, ‘Give My Love To Rose.’
She has regularly paid due to the influence that Cash, a fellow Arkansas native, has had on her career.
“Johnny Cash has been a big influence on me. I remember listening to his Ring of Fire album in my grandpa’s record collection from a young age,” she says. “I think the fact that we’re both from Arkansas was definitely a connection — to see someone from where I’m from living my dream.”
CRAIG CAMPBELL – ‘BY GOD’
The influence that TikTok has on our country favourites cannot be overstated. Craig Campbell released ‘By God’ to the online community to gauge interest. It was positive, hence the official release of the Thomas Archer and Jordan Walker-penned track.
He’s just started his ‘By God’ tour, and will be welcoming Styles Haury on the first four dates.
TIM MONTANA – ‘GOOD BY ME’
Two new tracks from Tim Montana to check out – ‘Good By Me’ and ‘I Ain’t Ashamed’.
He’s a Montana from Kalispelli, Montana, who released his album ‘Long Shots’ last year.
He also splits his musical career with TV. He has his own ‘Tim Montana’s Wild Side’ show in the US.
CARTER FAITH – ‘GREENER PASTURE’
She released her debut EP ‘Let Love Be Love’ last year, and her new single ‘Greener Pasture’ is another of our favourite tracks of the week.
She is writing with proven hit creators. The song was penned with Tofer Brown, who has had hits with Maddie & Tae, Little Big Town and Jon Pardi.
“Greener Pasture is about that heartbreaking feeling when someone leaves you for the possibility of something better, looking for something greater is human nature but never fails to leave a lot of hurt in its wake.”
JANA KRAMER – ‘THE STORY’
Country music has a tradition of heartfelt honesty in relation to telling deeply personal stories. Take the last album from Carly Pearce as a recent example.
Jana Kramer has now released a song dedicated to her two young children, dealing with the effects of her break-up and subsequent divorce from ex-husband Mike Caussin.
It went straight to #1 on the iTunes US Country Chart upon release.
MATT ROY – ‘WHEN YOU LOSE SOMEONE’
It’s a track from his debut EP ‘Wildflower’. The EP is one of the highlights of the year to date, but we particularly love this heartfelt ballad ‘When You Lose Someone.’
He’s from New Jersey and grew up listening to the music of Bruce Springsteen, before moving to Nashville in 2014 and attracting the attention of BMG. He wrote Chris Janson’s ‘Done,’ which was his first #1 as a writer.
KENDI JEAN – ‘BUSY BEE’
What a great time for new country music. The quality continues with the new track from Kendi Jean. ‘Busy Bee’ is a sultry, laid-back gem of a tune.
She’s from Fort Worth, Texas, and describes her music as a cross between Motown from Detroit and cowboy boots from Texas. We are promised more moody songs throughout the year, so we say bring it on.
JILLIAN JACQUELINE – ‘MAGIC’
It’s the lead single from Jillian’s new album, and ends a two year break since the release of her last EP.
She’s taken time off to have a baby with husband Bryan Brown, but is now preparing to release her new album. She’s signed a distribution deal with Virgin Music, so we are looking forward to a big year for Jillian Jacqueline in 2022.
