GARY LEVOX – ‘GET DOWN LIKE THAT’

The solo career is certainly up and running for former Rascal Flatts frontman Gary Levox, who will be touring for the rest of the year and has released a track that may be his first solo chart hit after the break up of the band.

‘Get Down Like That’ was written by Thomas Rhett, Hardy, Jesse Frasure and Ashley Gorley. Their involvement should ensure a chart hit, and the song seems ideally suited to his live shows and radio.

CHARLEY CROCKETT – ‘THE MAN FROM WACO’

It’s the title track from his new album, coming 9th September. He released a covers album ‘Jukebox Charley’ earlier this year but the album will be his first new material since ‘Music City USA’ in 2021.

The album was recorded at Texas music legend Bruce Robison’s studio in Austin. It was also produced by Robison, who has been managing Crockett’s career.

The album was recorded with his regular backing band, The Blue Drifters.

BLAKE SHELTON – ‘NO BODY’

Blake’s new single has a definite 90’s throwback feel. He moved to Nashville in that era, and began his country career wearing the traditional country hat and a very distinctive mullet that he has resurrected for his new single.

He’s also preparing to resume his role as a judge on ‘The Voice,’ which begins on September 19th on NBC, and Blake has also revealed that Jimmie Allen has been lined up as a mentor for team Blake.

BEN BURGESS – ‘HEARTBREAK’

He released ‘Tears the Size Of Texas’ a few weeks back, and follows up with another track from his forthcoming album ‘Heartbreak,’ a track that was originally written with Jacod Durrett and Asley Gorley, and recorded with Diplo in 2020.

The 10-track project will be released on September 30th, and features songs written with Brandy Clark, Josh Kerr and Hunter Phelps.

He’s touring with Koe Wetzel this month and will also join Jelly Roll for their ‘Role Models’ Tour later this year.

WARD DAVIS -‘ANOTHER BAD APPLE’

If your brand of country music is traditional with a hint of country rock, Ward Davis may just be your man.

He’s the songwriter of tunes by Cody Jinks, Willie Nelson and Whitey Morgan, and back in the day, Merle Haggard. He’s released ‘Another Bad Apple’ which is a southern country rock stomper with a badass video that parodies the genre.

He’s playing Red Rocks Ampitheater with Cody Jinks and Clint Black on October 1st.

KANE BROWN – ‘GO AROUND’

Another preview from Kane’s new album ‘Different Man,’ coming September 9th. The album will feature 17 tracks, including a duet with his wife Katelyn, who appears on ‘Thank God.’

Katelyn’s singing career took her to Berklee College of Music, where she graduated in 2019 with a degree in Music Business.

Kane’s last full-length album was 2019’s ‘Experiment,’ but he released a 7-track EP ‘Mixtape Vol. 1’ in 2020.

TANNER USREY -‘TAKE ME HOME’

Another up-and-coming artist on the prolific Texas country scene is Tanner Usrey, who released his debut EP ‘Medicine Man’ in 2019.

His talents have been recognised by the producers of ‘Yellowstone,’ who included his song ‘The Light’ on season four’s finale.

‘Take Me Home’ is his new single, and he states that ‘home’ can mean so many different things to someone. A place, a feeling, a time or anything that means home to you.

MADDIE & TAE -‘SPRING CLEANING’

Maddie & Tae are preparing to release their new project ‘Through the Madness Vol. 2,’ and have shared another track from it.

‘Spring Cleaning’ is the sentiment expressed when someone has outstayed their welcome and is moving out. They wrote the song with Josh Kerr and Tayla Parx, and the full collection will be released on September 23rd, featuring 8 tracks. Volume 1 was released in January.

They will headline a 17-date ‘All Song No Static Tour’ which is presented by CMT’s Next Women Of Country.

SUNNY SWEENEY – ‘MARRIED ALONE’ FT. VINCE GILL

She’s currently in the UK, and played Millport Country  Festival last weekend. She will be appearing at The Long Road this weekend.

‘Married Alone’ is a track from her new album, coming via Thirty Tigers on September 23rd.

She said that the song was extremely personal as “I was coming out of a sticky divorce, and all the feelings were still so raw, I felt the words, not just heard them.”

“I am eternally grateful to [Vince] for lending his gorgeous voice to this, as I feel like it pushed it to another level,” she says.
