SEAFORTH FT. JORDAN DAVIS – ‘GOOD BEER’
We’ve been keeping close tabs on Tom Jordan and Mitch Thompson’s career development since we were introduced to their music via their 2019 EP ‘Love That’, which still features heavily on our playlists.
They have teamed up with tour mate Jordan Davis, whose profile is huge following his recent success with Luke Bryan, and it may well be that this will open doors for the guys with radio playlisters.
Seaforth will be appearing at C2C this year, so be sure to catch them on the Spotlight Stage in the arena.
MADDIE & TAE – ‘STRANGERS’
The duo are releasing an 8-track collection ‘Through the Madness Vol 1’, and ‘Strangers’ is the first release from the collection. Written by the girls with Adam Hambrick and Jimmy Robbins, it maintains the high quality song writing that we have come to expect.
The album details their real life experiences with their husbands, and is written from the heart.
Their tour in the States was due to kick off on 6th January, but has been pushed back due to Tae’s pregnancy.
MORGAN WADE – ‘RUN’
The album ‘Reckless’ will be re-released on the 28th January with six new tracks, and ‘Run’ is the first of those tracks to be given a preview. The album was well received following its release last year and featured in a number of influential year-end charts.
The extended edition will also include a version of Elvis Presley’s ‘Suspicious Minds’ and four other original tracks.
She’s about to go out on tour in the US but is another artist who will be making an appearnce at this year’s C2C.
ANDREW HYATT – ‘CLOSE TO YOU’
Andrew Hyatt is someone we have featured regularly on our weekly highlights lists, and he starts 2022 with ‘Close To You’.
The Canadian native is signed with 604 records and has recently informed his followers on social media that he is intending to release a couple of tracks in January, “one happy, one sad, balance is the key.”
PAUL BOGART – ‘WHILE SHE’S MINE’
It’s almost a tradition in country music for songs to be written and performed which are dedicated to an artist’s children. ‘While She’s Mine’ was written for Paul’s new daughter and follows two songs that he penned for his two sons.
Bogart’s songs are built with a nod to the traditional side of Country Music. His persona is very much a ‘Country Cowboy’ and he has been compared to a young George Strait, so there are certainly big boots to fill.
CLAYTON SMALLEY – ‘THIS GUITAR’
An excellent track from Clayton Smalley that tells the true story of a 1935 Gibson guitar that his grandmother inherited from her father. Jerrels ‘Gabe’ Clayton bought the guitar at a pawn shop in the 50’s and played it in southern California.
She gave the guitar to Clayton in 2019 as he released his debut EP ‘Whiskey Sunrise,’ and he was able to play with the same strings that his great grandfather had used back in the day.
The artwork features Clayton, Gabe and the guitar in question.
WALKER HAYES – ‘DRINKING SONGS’
Walker makes no secret that he has had serious past issues with alcohol, but has recently stated “who better to write a drinking song than an alcoholic.”
The track will feature on his ‘Country Stuff The Album’ which is due on 21st January.
The last twelve months have been huge for Walker with the massive success of ‘Fancy Like’, which was the country crossover of the year and featured heavily on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
MAREN MORRIS – ‘CIRCLES AROUND THIS TOWN’
Maren’s profile may be huge around Nashville these days but it wasn’t always so. She came to town as a staff writer on Music Row with the intention of getting her songs included on other artists’ albums. She recalls the rejections and the encouragement with little success.
She worked hard and eventually that hard work resulted in the breakthrough that she relates in her new single ‘Circles Around This Town’. It’s a track from a new studio album that is set to be released shortly.
ALYSSA BONAGURA – ‘LAST NIGHT IN DECEMBER’
This one was appropriately released on the last night in December, and we fully expect that it will be one of our most-listened tracks of 2022.
It’s the follow-up to ‘New Wings’, which was easily one of the top releases of 2021, and those of us who had the pleasure of seeing her perform in the UK last year will not be surprised to hear that her new song is also pretty awesome!
