SAM OUTLAW – ‘FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES’
The Long Road Festival in September 2019 seems an age away now, but those who were there will recall the appearance of Sam Outlaw. He’s been off the radar since, but has been working on new music.
He’s kept a very low profile since the start of the pandemic, but his recent appearance at the Grand Ole Opry and the release of his new single ‘For The Rest Of Our Lives’ seems to be the start of a busier period, with a new album planned later this year.
He wrote this new track with Steven Fiore, and there is a synth-country vibe here that works really well and showcases a new side to Sam’s music.
EMILY SCOTT ROBINSON – ‘CHEAP SEATS’
She’s recently signed a recording contract with John Prine’s Oh Boy Records, and the country traditionalists are certainly on board. The label are releasing her new album ‘American Siren’ on 29th October and ‘Cheap Seats’ is the second pre-release from it.
It’s a song for all aspiring artists dreaming of the days when they don’t have to settle for the ‘cheap seats’.
TRISHA YEARWOOD – ‘I DARE YOU TO LOVE’
Trisha’s been determined to record and release this song since it was pitched to her by writers Natalie Hemby and Laura Veltz for her 2019 album ‘Every Girl’.
It was also presented to Kelly Clarkson, who recorded it as the up-tempo ‘I Dare You’, and plans to record it as a ballad (as it was originally intended) were put on hold. Until now.
It’s one of three new songs on ‘Every Girl Deluxe Edition’, released last Friday.
LAINE HARDY – ‘AUTHENTIC’
Exciting times for 2019 American Idol winner Laine Hardy, who has just started his ‘Monster Energy Outback Tour’ in the U.S. and will be making his Grand Ole Opry debut on August 28th.
He’s also released a new track, ‘Authentic’, and the video includes live performances from Laine’s ‘Country Now Live’ show, which took place in July. We are sure that his vast legions of fans will approve!
CASEY BARNES – ‘GOD TOOK HIS TIME ON YOU’
We have included Australian artists in our weekly lists before, and are happy to highlight the new single from Aussie Casey Barnes who is one of their hottest exports to Country Music.
He has teamed up with Nashville-based songwriters Brown & Gray, who are also co-writers on a number of tracks for Casey Barnes’ forthcoming album.
He won the Australian Gold Coast Music Awards ‘Artist of the Year’ in 2020 and has been nominated for four awards at this year’s event, which will be held in September.
CHANDLER STEPHENS – ‘RAISED BY A WORKING MAN’
Chandler’s becoming a regular on our weekly lists. She’s from Florida but is now based in Nashville a,nd is gradually building up a very strong portfolio of music.
‘Raised By a Working Man’ is a tribute to her father, who had a huge influence on her career and was supportive in her decision to relocate to music city to chase her dream.
The track is her follow up to the Don Henley classic ‘Boys of Summer’, released in July.
SHAWN AUSTIN FT. CHRIS LANE – ‘TAILGATE TO HEAVEN’
Vancouver native Shawn Austin has teamed up with Chris Lane for this impressive pop-country track that marks the first release of a joint venture between Canadian label Local Hay Records and Big Loud Music in Nashville. Local Hay is a new project set up by fellow artist Dallas Smith.
Austin and Lane worked together in 2018 when Austin appeared as a support artist on Chris Lane’s tour.
LUCIE SILVAS FT. SHERYL CROW – ‘COOL DOWN’
Another of our favourites to have a very low recent profile is Lucie Silvas, who hasn’t released a new album since 2018’s ‘E.G.O.’
She’s about to release her new album ‘Live By The Song’ later this year and here’s a sample from it. A soulful, infectious duet with Sheryl Crow. It’s good to have her back.
THE WILD FEATHERS – ‘ANOTHER SUNNY DAY’
Their new album ‘Alvarado’ will be released on 8th October and ‘Another Sunny Day’ is the second preview from it, following ‘Ain’t Lookin’.
It’s one of 14 tracks on the new album, which is the follow up to 2020’s ‘Medium Rareties’ collection. They are currently touring with Blackberry Smoke but start their own tour in support of their new album later this year.
