THOMPSON SQUARE – ‘NOTHING MORE BEAUTIFUL’

Two new tracks from husband and wife duo Thompson Square. ‘Nothing More Beautiful’ and ‘What We’re Fighting For’ show what we have been missing from Keifer and Shawna.

Their musical output has been scarce over the last couple of years, but Keifer has nailed it with two songs that are dedicated to his wife and family. The first was written with Vicky McGehee and Stephen Wilson Jr, who was in the UK recently supporting Brothers Osborne.

JILLIAN JACQUELINE – ‘ICONIC’

‘Iconic’ is a pre-release track from Jillian’s forthcoming album ‘Honestly,’ and features a video which includes her husband Bryan Brown. She wrote the song after the pair were engaged in Paris in March 2018.

The video also includes footage from the Paris trip, her subsequent wedding in April 2019 and her son Rockwell, who was born last November.

The album is set to be released on June 10th.

SARAH DARLING – ‘GET TO ME’

She’s released a 5-track EP, ‘Darling,’ which brings together all of her recent releases and a brand new track, ‘Get To Me,’ which certainly ticks all the right boxes.

Sarah’s been touring the US over the last couple of months and has announced a headlining show at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville on June 16th.

The exciting news for us is that Sarah will be playing at Millport and The Long Road in August!

DALLAS SMITH FT. MACKENZIE PORTER – ‘ONE TOO’

Canadian Country Music stars Dallas Smith and Mackenzie Porter team up on a song that was penned by Seaforth’s Mitch Thompson and Tom Jordan, Alysa Vanderheym and Rocky Block.

Dallas and Mackenzie are label mates at Big Loud Records, and they have toured together in Canada.

Smith has recently made his Ryman debut opening for Trace Adkins, and he is now touring with James Barker Band.

EMILY FAYE – ‘WHEN IT COMES TO LEAVING’

UK artist Emily Faye’s new single ‘When It Comes To Leaving’ was written with Jess Thristan on a lockdown Zoom call. Her regular producer Sue McMillan wasn’t available, so she enlisted the safe hands of Tim Prottey-Jones – it’s certainly a homegrown creation.

Emily is in a long distance relationship. Her partner lives in Jersey.

“This song actually comforts me when I’m on the plane sometimes! The lyric ‘I just gotta touch town then I’ll be ok’ I repeat that in my head quite a bit.”

COFFEY ANDERSON FT. DILLON CARMICHAEL  – ‘AIN’T AS LONELY’

Coffey Anderson has a cool backstory.

His first guitar was loaned from a girlfriend who dumped him, but he got to keep the guitar. He relocated from his native Texas to LA, and performed in the street with an IKEA folding table where he sold CDs . He started his own YouTube Channel in 2006 which has 240,000 subscribers, and eventually signed a recording deal with Riser House Entertainment.

His new track is a duet with Dillon Carmichael, who himself is starting to build momentum.

JORDAN DAVIS – ‘WHAT MY WORLD SPINS AROUND’

The summer season has officially started with the release of a track that is hotly tipped to be 2022’s summer anthem. It’s bound to be heavily played on Country radio and follows ‘Buy Dirt,’ which is this year’s second most-streamed song to date.

That track was a game-changer for Jordan Davis, who now sees his audience growing and the venues getting larger.

The new song was written with Ryan Hurd and Matt Dragstrem.

KELLY CLARKSON – ‘HAPPIER THAN EVER’

She’s releasing an EP ‘Kellyoke,’ which contains covers that she has performed on her daytime TV talk show in the US.

The six-song EP will be released on the 9th June and includes covers of songs by Whitney Houston, The Weeknd and Radiohead, and also ‘Happier Than Ever’ by Billie Eilish.

MARIO FLORES – ‘I CAN’T EVEN DRINK STRAIGHT’

We conclude this week’s list with a song that is reminiscent of some of the classic George Strait recordings back in the day. Midland fans will appreciate the traditional, laid-back, pure Country style of Texan Mario Flores.

Mario performs with The Soda Creek Band and will be releasing an EP this week, ‘What Took You So Long.’
