ZAC BROWN BAND – ‘OLD LOVE SONG/OUT IN THE MIDDLE’
We can say with certainty that ZBB are back. The new album promises to be a return to form for the band that has provided a soundtrack for country music fans since they burst onto the scene 13 years ago.
They have released two tracks that were co-written with Luke Combs, Ben Simonetti and Jonathan Singleton. ‘Out In the Middle’ is a southern rock stomper that praises the lifestyle of those who work hard and play hard.
Our favourite is the name-checking ‘Old Love Song’ with its retro groove and instantly recognisable references to the great song titles that we fell in love to. Out of the two, this is the one that has the potential to be a ZBB standard.
ALANA SPRINGSTEEN – ‘ZERO TRUCKS’
Another potential hit for Alana Springsteen, who seems destined for stardom. It was written with Walker Hayes and Joe Clemmons, and certainly has all the traits that we have come to expect from Walker’s music. Clever words and catchy hooks.
Alana has been very productive over the last few months. Her singles ‘California’ and ‘Trying Not To’ were both well received and this new track may well be a summer anthem, if it receives radio support.
CODY JOHNSON – ‘GOD BLESS THE BOY (CORI’S SONG)’
Cody’s on a roll. Not only has he continued to release high quality music that regularly graces our weekly lists, but he has now done a full-length feature film dealing with his rise to fame, set to be released in August. ‘Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story’ will be released in US cinemas on August 10th.
His dream to become a star in the rodeo ring never found fruition, but their loss is our gain as he made his way up the ranks of country music to the level he is at today.
He’s releasing two songs a month, leading up to the release of his album in the Autumn. Check out ‘Stronger’ which has also been released this week.
EMILY WEISBAND FT. KAREN FAIRCHILD – ‘BUTTERFLY’
Emily’s a go-to songwriter in Nashville. Her songs have produced hits for Dan + Shay, Keith Urban, Lauren Alaina and Danielle Bradbery, amongst others.
She’s recently released an EP ‘I Call It Being Human’ and has now teamed up with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild for a song that Karen was insistent that she recorded.
“From the moment I heard this song I couldn’t stop listening and harrassing Emily about it”
MITCHELL TENPENNY – ‘TRUTH ABOUT YOU’
This is the first song released from Mitchell’s EP that he intends to release this summer. ‘Truth About You’ was originally previewed on TikTok in May, but now receives a commercial release.
It is a fan favourite and follows his 2021 releases ‘Bucket List’ and ‘To Us It Did’.
OLIVIA LANE – ‘LOIS LANE’
We are loving the new track from Olivia Lane, who will be releasing her new album ‘Heart Change’ on 17th September.
‘Lois Lane’ is a song about her Grandmother, who is actually called Lois Lane, so the superhero theme is entirely appropriate. Olivia recently returned to her hometown of Houston, Texas to play a preview of the song to her.
The new track follows ‘Woman At The Well’, which will also feature on the new album.
CHASE BRYANT – ‘THINK ABOUT THAT’
It’s well documented that Chase Bryant has had a extremely turbulent couple of years, but his new album released this Friday will mark a recovery from the demons that led to a suicide attempt in 2018.
His album ‘Upbringing’ is a second chance for stardom that seemed to be his destiny when he had two top 10 hit singles, ‘Take It On Back’ and ‘Little Bit Of You’, in 2015.
‘Think About That’ follows ‘Even Now’, which we featured in May and will also be included on the new album.
MATT JORDAN – ‘FIFTH OF JULY’
It always helps career development when the giants of country media are happy to assist with promotion. CMT are featuring Matt Jordan’s new releases on their platform, and ‘Fifth of July’ follows ‘Cold In California’ which was released earlier in the year.
He has been releasing new music on a regular basis during the lockdown, and has been steadily building up his Spotify listeners ahead of the release of his new album in the Autumn.
CHRIS MORENO FT. JOE BERMUDEZ – ‘ONE WAY TRACK’
Chris left his hometown Boston and his corporate job in 2018 to begin a career as a full time country singer in Nashville.
His life change is now beginning to pay off with impressive numbers on Spotify for his single ‘Used To This’, and a million listens for his cover of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’
Chris has teamed up with DJ/Producer Joe Bermudez for this up-beat pop-country track that he co-wrote with Bermudez and enlisted Justin Wantz for mixing and mastering.
