Here’s your round-up of all the latest country news!
NASHVILLE MEETS LONDON FESTIVAL
It’s been announced that ‘Nashville Meets London Festival’ will take place on the 13-14 August and held at Canada Square Park London. Entry is free and the event is open to the public.
Artists that have been confirmed to appear are as follows:
Yola Carter, Megan Oneil, Hannah Rose Platt, Honey Ryder, William the Conqueror and the Pauper Kings
Ty Herdon, Logan Brill, American Young and Logan Mize.
UK Country Music DJ Baylen Leonard is the artistic program consultant.
We have time to take stock and actually listen to the mass of new release music that has been available over the last few months before it all begins again. The next huge release is Kenny Chesney’s album ‘Some Town Somewhere’ that will be with us on July 8th and David Nail will be releasing ‘Fighter’ a week later.
In the meantime we have new single releases from Old Dominion – ‘Song For Another Time’, Mickey Guyton – ‘Heartbreak Song’, Maren Morris – ‘80’s Mercedes’ and Eli Young Band – ‘Saltwater Gospel’.
An interesting new release is the latest album from Lori McKenna ‘The Bird and the Rifle’ that will be available on July 29th. This will be her ninth album. She has a recording career that extends back to 2000 but has not had the sort of success as a recording artist that you might expect.
She is of course hot property as a wonderful song writer. She was responsible for ‘Humble and Kind’ that was recently a chart topper for Tim McGraw.
If we listed her back catalogue we would probably be here all day but we should probably mention ‘Girl Crush’ that seemed to do quite well!! ‘Tumble and Fall’ and ‘Save Your Sin’ from Little Big Town’s ‘Pain Killer’ album and Carrie’s ‘Like I’ll Never Love You Again’ are a few more examples.
It’s now of course confirmed that ‘Nashville’ will be moving to CMT for season 5. As a result the previous custodians ABC have agreed to sell off props, wardrobe and memorabilia from seasons 1-4. There are 270 items that are being auctioned online. Each item will be on offer for 7 days and the bidding began on Tuesday 21st June. The process completes on July 26th. To take part, log into nashvilletvauctions.com and place your bids.
Judging by the reaction to the recent shows here in the UK this may be very popular!!
Guess who is opening for Guns N’ Roses on July 9th at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville…..Chris Stapleton. Not the obvious choice is it?
If you are in the US later this year you might want to arrange your vacation around a stellar tour that we would really, really like to attend. Kip Moore and Jon Pardi on the ‘Me and My Kind’ tour which starts in Oklahoma at the end of September and ends in Detroit early December. 18 dates arranged so far. Check Kip’s website for full details.
It’s Buckle and Boots this weekend folks. Please can we have some sunshine?!! Who needs Glastonbury.
We will be there in force and look forward to hearing some great music, meeting some old friends and hopefully new ones.
Tickets still available from buckleandboots.co.uk
See you there!
