[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Platinum-selling recording artists Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) took global smash “Tequila” and brand new single “Speechless” to Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week, and Billboard summed up the performance in one word: “epic.” Rolling Stone too praised the duo, who played to a packed crowd at the outdoor stage in Hollywood, describing “Tequila” as “a smooth pour of crisp-but-warm vocals and nostalgic romance” and applauding “Mooney’s effortless vocal dripping in satisfied desire and Smyers… groove on acoustic guitar” throughout “Speechless.” Fans can also check out exclusive, off-air performances of additional tracks from their recently released self-titled album, including “All to Myself,” “Alone Together” and “Keeping Score,” here.
“Speechless” will officially impact country radio next week, but it started as an instant smash upon release. Already it has pulled in more than 35 million streams and a quarter million track equivalent sales. Against the Mediabase Top 50, it currently ranks No. 8 in streams and No. 13 in both track equivalents and sales alone. For all 10 weeks that it has been available to fans, “Speechless” has remained Top 30 on Nielsen’s Country On-Demand Streaming chart. Its ultra-romantic music video, which was featured on The Knot (read here), features footage from each of their weddings and has drawn upwards of 12 million views on YouTube.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edVkKiu2UH4″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UgL0LKsUsg”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Meanwhile, the duo’s international mega-hit “Tequila” continues its ascension as it becomes the No. 4 most-streamed country song of 2018. With more than 186 million on-demand streams to date, the single also held a multi-week command of the Country Airplay charts. The visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! joins previous performances on Ellen, the 53rd Annual ACM Awards, the 2018 CMT Music Awards and the Citi Summer Concert Series on TODAY. The Tennessean recently named the “Tequila” to its “Nashville’s Best Songs of 2018 So Far” list, calling it “a contemporary spin on an old-fashioned country heartbreak song.” This week its cinematic music video, which boasts 32 million views, notched a second week atop CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown. Dan + Shay recently released a R3HAB remix of the tune, which has garnered nearly three million streams on Spotify alone and has been featured on the platform’s Global and US Viral 50, Canada Viral 50, New Music Friday, Mood Booster, Daily Lift and Workout playlists, among others.
Now clocking in more than 259,000 album equivalents and over 281 million on-demand streams, Dan + Shay debuted atop the Billboard Country Album chart and accumulated 29 million cumulative streams during release-week alone, making it the highest debut-week stream-total of any new country release in 2018. Co-produced by Smyers alongside the award-winning Scott Hendricks, it is the only country album released this year to have every song hit Nielsen’s Country On-Demand Streaming chart, with 10 tracks featuring a writing credit from the duo. In addition, the album has drawn the attention of fans and fellow artists spanning multiple genres, including Keith Urban, Luke Combs, Kelly Clarkson, Brett Eldredge and Shawn Mendes.
The duo is sharing their music out on the road with Rascal Flatts for their “Back To Us” Tour through the summer and will join Chris Young for the fall leg of his “Losing Sleep” Tour in October. They’ll take their collection of No. 1 hits and brand new tunes across the globe with a six-date UK tour kicking off January 17, 2019.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
