GRAMMY-nominated duo Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) will hit the ground running this year with their January 8 debut on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Platinum-selling pair is set to perform their smash single “Speechless,” which kicked off 2019 by notching its third consecutive week at No. 1 on the country airplay charts and sixth atop Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.
Dan + Shay’s award-winning global smash “Tequila” also maintains its position at No. 2 on the Hot Country chart, continuing its unparalleled success. Together the tracks make up two of the top five most-streamed country songs released in 2018. “Speechless” remains No. 1 song in consumption, sales and streams among this week’s Mediabase Top 50 with more than 166 million on-demand streams and 1.2 million track equivalents sold. They recently performed the romantic tune on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, Dancing with the Stars and The Voice.
The skyrocketing duo closed out their massive year with performances of “Tequila” and “All To Myself”on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. In 2018 “Tequila” became Dan + Shay’s first multi-week No. 1 single and is currently nominated for two GRAMMY Awards for “Best Country Duo/Group Performance” and “Best Country Song.”
In addition to its GRAMMY recognition, the song garnered four combined CMA Awards nominations and two American Music Awards nods. The “massive, sweeping country-radio smash” (Rolling Stone) has earned more than 346 million streams and 2.6 million track equivalents, and itwas named to “Best of…” lists from Billboard, Amazon, Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, YouTube and more. Between “Tequila” and the other tracks from their self-titled album, Dan + Shay earned nearly three billion total audience impressions over the past year.
The chart-topping pair will head overseas this month, spreading their music across the globe with a headlining UK tour kicking off January 17, 2019. They will follow with their sold-out headlining run, “Dan + Shay The Tour,” beginning in February.
