As part of Destination Country, we’re excited to bring you the premiere of actor/musician Riley Smith’s ‘Chocolate’ music video!
Smith showcases his romantic side in the video, shot with a Chicago vibe and inspired by his time living in the “Windy City” near Blommers chocolate company.
The track was produced by multi-talented instrumentalist Kevin Leach, mixed by Grammy-nominated John Rausch and mastered by Grammy Award-winning Nathan Dantzler.
“It’s a little known fact, there is a Chocolate Factory in downtown Chicago. And when the wind blows just right, the city smells like chocolate. I had this beautiful high rise apartment with a great view of the world renowned Chicago architecture. I thought, that visual alone would drive creative vision for a song. It turns out, it was another sense that gave me the inspiration. When you hear the song, you can’t help but think about the sweet smell of chocolate….and love in the air.”
No secret to those familiar with his lead role on the popular TV show “Nashville”, Smith’s gritty yet smooth, singing voice and charismatic presence have built him a career on both stage and screen. Acting in popular shows like “True Blood”, “True Detective”, “Frequency”, “Life Sentence”, and currently The CW’s “Nancy Drew” have catapulted Smith to the forefront of the industry by introducing his love for music to entirely new audiences.
