One of the most successful and influential names in the world of country rock, North Carolina native Eric Church has spent the past two decades honing his craft as a singer / songwriter par excellence in the classic traditions of a Springsteen or a Seger.

Hes also pretty lethal with the guitar, doing as much as anyone to bridge the gap between country music and rock, especially on his 2014 album The Outsiders a landmark, US chart-topping release skilfully welding the traditions of country to the power n presentation of rock, underlining his declaration that genres are dead

For Mr. Misunderstood, his most recent / fifth studio album, Eric turned his hand to a highly personal set of songs, the title track / video referencing his early years away from the pack, and this expanded version produced by Jay Joyce and set for release via Spinefarm Records on March 10th comes with all-new artwork, full lyrics, a poster, plus bonus live tracks from Red Rocks, Colorado.

On its original release, Mr. Misunderstood hit the No 2 spot on the US Billboard charts, going on to win the Album Of The Year accolade at the Country Music Awards (2016); it includes a number of guest performers, including Susan Tedeschi, Rhiannon Giddens & Joanna Cotten, who features on lead UK single, the irrepressible Chattanooga Lucy.
