Country Music Week kicks off with a very special headline show from Randy Houser, performing in the UK for the first time. With an inimitable voice the New York Times describes as “wholly different, thicker and more throbbing, a caldron bubbling over,” Randy Houser racked up three consecutive No. 1 hits and more than four million in singles sales to date with his Stoney Creek Records album, How Country Feels. He topped the charts with the title track, “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight” and “Goodnight Kiss” (also his first No. 1 as a songwriter) and earned critical acclaim for his powerful delivery of the Top 5 smash and CMA Song of the Year–‐nominated “Like A Cowboy.” Houser added a fourth No. 1 to his catalogue with “We Went” from his latest album, Fired Up, and has been tapped to perform at several major country music festivals in 2017. For more information, visit www.RandyHouser.com, www.Facebook.com/RandyHouser or follow on Twitter/Instagram @RandyHouser.
Named one of The Huffington Post’s “Top Country Artists to Watch”, Lindsay Ell is an accomplished musician, unique vocalist and songwriter. The young Calgary native learned to play guitar while traveling with her father to country-bluegrass camps as a young girl. Ell’s highly anticipated debut EP, Worth The Wait (produced by Kristian Bush of Sugarland), debuted at No. 8 on the Nielsen Soundscan Country Albums Chart.
Making their first appearance in the UK for CMW, Jordan Walker and Johnny McGuire take an opposites-attract approach to their music, fusing electrifying “brotherly” harmonies with a fresh new take on modern country. They met just days after moving to Nashville – Jordan, the “super country” guy, raised in Texas with a love for classics like Keith Whitley and Dan Seals; – Johnny, the quintessential “rootsy” guy, a Kansas City native schooled by left-of-centre icons like Tom Petty and John Prine. It was a yin-and-yang musical connection that fitted together like puzzle pieces and the duo Walker McGuire was born.
A breakout country artist signed to EMI Nashville, delivers a powerful musical punch and is a renowned, Platinum-selling hit songwriter and a dynamic performer who has enjoyed five No. 1 hits including “Even If It Breaks Your Heart” (Eli Young Band), “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” (Jake Owen), “Rewind” (Rascal Flatts) and “Friday Night”, the big hit from his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. The Temple, Texas native earned nominations for GRAMMY, ACM and CMA Awards. For the latest information go to: www.ericpaslay.com
Following up their fantastic UK debut at C2C this year – this rising country music trio, comprises sisters Emma (vocals/mandolin) and Maddie (vocals) Salute together with guitarist and long-time friend Dawson Anderson (vocals/guitar). They have already amassed a sizeable and loyal fan base thanks to their immaculate harmonies and infectious, youthful energy. With talent far beyond their teenage years, Temecula Road has an impressive online following with their series of song covers. A recent mashup video of the trio singing portions of 2016’s top 20 country songs in a mere 3 minutes garnered them over 7 million views online and 84,000 shares on Facebook.
With words and music to live by, the twenty-something singer/songwriter is well sculpted. Real, true and humble, yet admirably confident, the traits resonate in her music. With pop melody sensibility, Jillian takes artistic liberty with her lyrics, but they’re as flat-out and straightforward “honest” as they come. Her new recording project, Honestly, places Jillian’s life under a magnifying glass to reveal unbound, themes of regret, nostalgia, heartache and frolic. Featuring song titles like “Hate Me,” “Reasons”, “God Bless This Mess”” the emotionally-weighted album spotlights “less is more” tracks that clearly demonstrate a comfortable intimacy to unveil Jillian Jacqueline’s identity—undisguised.
Nashville to Los Angeles, Atlanta to the UK and back – there is no boundary to Sonia Leigh’s musical reach. From her country upbringing to her rebellious city lifestyle, changes have always been a catalyst for her creativity. She has had past success writing songs for Zac Brown Band, touring across the world with Eric Church, but as an independent artist, she finds comfort in the idea of creating her own opportunity and refining her craft.
An Americana artist hailing from Co. Kildare, Megan O’Neill lived for a period in Nashville before moving to London. Her song ‘Don’t You’ has featured on the TV Show “Nashville” earlier this year. She released her debut EP Stories to Tell which was recorded at Mark Knopfler’s British Grove Studios with the legendary Guy Fletcher (Dire Straits, Roxy Music, Mark Knopfler) producing.
A powerful singer and songwriter, gifted with the talent to arouse the soul with his expressive and poignant lyrics, Sam, a native of Bangor County Down, recently returned from Nashville, where he performed at the Bluebird Café. Compared to Jeff Buckley, John Martyn, Bon Iver and Paolo Nutini, he is a perceptive writer and performer and a mesmerizing live performer.
Performing in the UK for the first time – Levi Hummon came on our radar after he released his first self-titled EP in 2016 with the Big Machine Label Group, co-writing four of the EP’s five songs, including “Guts and Glory”. He has collaborated with rock legend Steven Tyler, co-writing his international No. 1 song, “Red, White and You.” Levi released his current single, “Don’t Waste The Night,” via Iconic Records and has been featured on Rolling Stone Country’s Artists You Need to Know.
A young band, in every sense, The Adelaides hark back to the old time country traditions of talent, truth and integrity. A truly exciting live act, the three girls’ blend of self-penned originals, leavened with a couple of well-chosen covers. Abi Phillips won her “Hollyoaks” TV role by writing a song called ‘Missing You’ which was broadcast during one of her storylines. Paris Georgia and Alicia Albanese are also both experienced performers and writers who bring the band both passion and incredible vocal talent; and this combination is a magical blend.
Returning to the UK after impressing audiences at C2C earlier this year, Logan continues to define herself as one of the most important young artists in Nashville today. With a stunning voice that goes toe to toe with country music’s finest, the young Knoxville native opts for grit and authenticity over pristine pop in her song choices, drawing comparisons to Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, and Mary Chapin Carpenter from US press. Logan has appeared on sold-out bills with iconic artists like Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, & Leon Russell as well as contemporary mega-stars like Gary Allan, Lee Brice, & The Band Perry.
He could have come straight out of Nashville, or even from the Californian sunshine, as his music suggests; but Jake is from Norfolk! Jake was discovered by Dermot O Leary, who featured him on his Radio 2 Show which led to a Glastonbury booking. He has a gig history that reads like a road atlas and he and his band have truly honed their craft and leave audiences feeling joyous and wanting more. His song “Wire and Thorns” reached No.2 in the iTunes country charts on the day of release.
TWO WAYS HOME
Songwriters and alt-country duo Two Ways Home – in the two years since they released their debut EP ‘Wood For Trees’(March 2015), they have enjoyed radio play across the UK & Europe, toured nationally – sharing stages with artists across the country/Americana spectrum from Phil Vassar to Red Sky July – and have been featured extensively in print publications including Maverick Magazine, Record Collector and The Sun, with the latter describing their sound as “…crystal clear harmonies tinged with melancholy”.
THE WANDERING HEARTS – just added as special guests with Marty Stuart on Oct 4.
This Americana Country music group hail from London. Hearing their beautiful harmony laden Alt-Country infused Folk-Americana one would scarcely believe this four-piece met almost by chance through mutual friends less than a year ago. They are currently working on their debut album and have recently have been signed to Decca Records.
Having honed and developed her skills both as a creator of expertly crafted music and as a captivating live performer, it is now Clara’s turn to take her place in the limelight, showcasing her outstanding vocal ability and story telling prowess, seamlessly delivered with personality and flair.
Her Out Of Towners EP sites an emotional journey through several relationships of different natures. Each track moves through feelings of vulnerability and strength, love and loss and everything in between. Clara Bond has built a loyal and dedicated international fan base, initially through her videos of cover versions performed in her own inimitable way.
The UK duo have spent the last two years playing throughout the UK & Europe, honing their live show, and as a result they understand the importance of being both a standout name on any line-up and a high energy crowd-pleaser. Their sound sits somewhere between the country-pop chart and the Nashville song-writing they both grew up listening to. Both of their EPs have landed in the iTunes country top ten thanks to radio play across the UK for their singles ‘Little Harder, ‘Where We Are Tonight’, and ‘If She Falls’ – which has now been added to Spotify UK’s Very Nearly Nashville playlist.
SARAH DARLING – just added as special guest with Jace Everett on Sun Oct 8.
Over her career Darling has released several albums with 500,000 downloads worldwide and two number 1 videos on US channels CMT and GAC. She calls her sound Dream Country. Her biggest hit, ‘Home to Me’ lead to performances on Conan O’Brien, Fox & friends, and opening for artists like Carrie Underwood and Kacey Musgraves.
