Alyssa Bonagura joins us for an interview to chat about her brand new solo single ‘New Wings’, as well as her plans during her time in the UK, her work with Lawson and more!
‘New Wings’ marks the first release following Bonagura’s collaboration in The Sisterhood Band, which took them across the world touring two successful Sony Music EP releases, with performances at the iconic Grand Ole Opry, main support for Rod Stewart on his UK & Ireland stadium tour, and a sold-out UK headline tour, along with numerous major festival appearances.
The single was written over Zoom with producer and songwriter Tawgs Salter. Stream HERE
Speaking about the track, Alyssa explains:
“I had really been going through a time of inward soul searching and transformation, and I’d lost a lot of things in my life that I thought were pretty stable. My band had broken up, we had lost our record deal, the pandemic happened, we lost all of our shows. It was a major year of loss, and through my healing journey I was listening to motivational speakers and I was listening to poetry and new music, and it was just so refreshing.
When Tawgs and I wrote this song, it was written and recorded in a couple of hours. I just knew it was a really special song, and for me coming back as a solo artist, I wanted to fill listeners with hope and inspire people, because it helped to heal me.”
