2017 will be a Christmas that Jess Clemmons’ never forgets! Having spent years documenting her search for love in her songs and finally meeting the man of her dreams, Jess will be Mrs Peaveyin time for Christmas Eve. To celebrate, Jess and the Bandits will be releasing the magical ‘Always Christmas Eve’ EP on 1st December.
Having found a second home here in the UK, and embraced by the UK country community, Jess has teamed up with some of her closest artist friends for a terrific Christmas collaboration!
The EP features four of the UK’s brightest Country stars – artists Gary Quinn, Laura Oakes and Kevin McGuire, along with fellow Bandit and BCMA Musician of the Year, Luke Thomas. A mixture of traditional and more contemporary festive tunes, the EP includes original ‘Always Christmas Eve’, penned by Gary Quinn and another native Texan, David Banning.
Released this Friday, Laura will be putting out her acoustic EP “Nashville Stole Your Girl”. The Acoustic EP allows for a more stripped back sound and re-discovery of Laura’s track ‘Lazy’ as well as a sneak peak of newly penned songs ‘Glitter’, ‘Nashville Stole Your Girl’ and ‘Better in Blue Jeans’. She’s had a triumphant year playing at the likes of Camp Bestival, Cornbury, Cambridge Folk Festival and Cottingham Folk Festival to name just a few but has an even more exciting 2018 shaping up with support dates confirmed in Leicester, Southampton and Bristol for Jess and the Bandits. But if you cant wait until 2018 then she has her final show of the year playing The Green Note, Camden alongside Twinnie and Kerri Watt on the 12th December.
Kevin McGuire’s career has gone from strength to strength in 2017. Having made apperances at Nashville Meets London, Country 2 Country, Buckle & Boots, Nashville Nights and FSA, he sold out his debut headline show in Glasgow and made his Radio 2 debut on Claire Balding’s breakfast show. His debut EP, Foreign Country, hit #2 on iTunes while he has enjoyed playlist love from Spotify.
Gary Quinn has been working hard in the studio on a new release, keep your ears peeled for the BCMA Male Vocalist of the year’s new outing next year.
All four of the featured artists are also set to be joining Jess at various venues up and down the UK, as part of her February headlining tour.
It’s a fitting end to what has been a productive year for Jess and the Bandits, who released their critically acclaimed album ‘Smoke and Mirrors’ back in September.
Country Music Magazine have labelled it ‘one of the best albums of the year’, and Lyric Magazine have listed recent BBC Radio Two playlisted single ‘Sister’ in their top 10 Country tracks of 2017.
