Singer/Songwriter Levi Hummon is ready for some exciting changes, and new music is just the beginning for the artist Rolling Stone Country named “a new country artist you need to know.” The Nashville-native, who recently signed with Sony/ATV for publishing, releases his new single “Change My Life” today (August 17).
The song, available now at retail and streaming, is a hopeful, upbeat story of the excitement surrounding the beginning of a new relationship, reminding listeners how one small action has the power to change the course of life, especially when it comes to love.
Let me pick you up sometime, drive you around
Let me kiss you goodnight and keep on thinkin’ out loud
Let me hold your hand, let me buy you wine
Let me let you, let me let you change my life
“‘Change My Life’ was one of those songs that wrote itself,” said Hummon. “It’s the story of how a simple act in love can lead to your whole life changing forever. A first date, a first kiss, just driving around with nowhere to go can be the start of something that lasts forever. I wanted it to feel fun and lighthearted and have that feeling of innocence. I knew it was special the first time I played it live in Chicago and saw fan’s reactions. It was awesome!”
Hummon co-wrote “Change My Life” with Phil Barton (Darius Rucker, Rodney Atkins, Lee Brice) and Lindsay Rimes (Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini). It was produced by Nashville’s McV (Chase Rice, Lauren Alaina, Kane Brown).
The song is the highly anticipated follow up to Hummon’s last single “Songs We Sang” which earned the singer/songwriter airplay on SiriusXM’s The Highway. With a unique, pop-infused sound all his own, fan-favorite song “Stupid” has surpassed 15 million in streams and made unmatched strides for an independent artist.
Earlier this summer, Hummon signed with Sony/ATV for publishing and The Orchard, a leading music, film and video distribution company operating in over 30 markets worldwide, for digital distribution. “Change My Life” is the first release for the independent artist with these new publishing and distribution partners.
Born and raised in Music City, Hummon has collaborated with notable songwriters including Jimmy Robbins, Shane McAnally, Andrew Dorff, Josh Osborne, Jonathon Singleton, Nathan Barlowe, Brandy Clark and Trevor Rosen, among others. With country music in his blood and a voice Rolling Stone has compared to Ed Sheeran, it is easy to see why Entertainment Weekly called Hummon a “new artists to hear now.”
Hummon has toured with Frankie Ballard, Kelsea Ballerini, Billy Currington, Hunter Hayes, Sam Hunt, Kip Moore, David Nail, Michael Ray and A Thousand Horses. For information on upcoming fall tour dates, stay tuned to www.levihummon.com.
