WWD caught up with the Australia native at the sold out New York City stop of his 10 IN 10 TOUR, sharing details of his musical influences, life on tour and personal style, as well as the story behind “Kiss Somebody.”

Bringing the infectious song to life, the “Kiss Somebody” music video – directed by Jeff Venable – was playfully filmed in nearly a single-shot and takes slow-motion to the extreme. Evans gave PEOPLE an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at the making of the unique video, which has already amassed more than a million views.

Evans will perform “Kiss Somebody” on ABC’s hit romance reality series The Bachelorette tonight at 8/7c. The track is currently inside Country radio’s Top 10 and has accumulated more than 41 million on-demand streams. Penned by Evans (alongside Chris DeStefano and Josh Osborne), “Kiss Somebody” will be featured on his full-length debut album due out this fall.
Taking the stage at popular festivals and fairs throughout the remainder of the summer, Evans will return as a special guest on Chris Young’s LOSING SLEEP 2018 WORLD TOUR beginning in September.
