FRANKIE DAVIES – ‘ASKING FOR A FRIEND’

A track that was included as a live version on her ‘Wherever I Go’ album has now been given a revamp in a whole new studio version. The video will be released imminently.

It’s a gentle, heart-felt ballad that Frankie describes as one of the most personal songs that she has written.

TYLER FARR – ‘THE ONLY TRUCK IN TOWN’

It’s been a while since we heard new music from Tyler Farr, who last had a big hit with ‘A Guy Walks Into A Bar’. He’s been working with Jason Aldean, and this is the result of that collaboration.

It’s staying pretty much in the ballpark that you would expect from these guys. A sure fire stadium anthem.

HOT COUNTRY KNIGHTS – ‘PICK HER UP’

The first commercial release for the band that is fronted by Dierks Bentley’s alter-ego, Douglas (Doug) Douglason. This one features Travis Tritt on co-vocals and is the foretaste to an album.

What started off as a joke side project may be developing traction, especially with the backing of Universal!

LUKAS NELSON & SHOOTER JENNINGS – ‘MAMMAS DON’T LET YOUR BABIES GROW UP TO BE COWBOYS’

‘The Ranch’ started its final season in the US last week. This is the song that plays over the opening titles. It was initially recorded by Ed Bruce but was covered very successfully by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings in 1978.

Their sons have now re-recorded it…

MITCHELL TENPENNY – ‘CAN’T GO TO CHURCH’

Mitchell’s been working with Seaforth, and they have very recently released a video for ‘Anything She Says’. But there’s no stopping him, and he’s back with another new release, ‘Can’t Go To Church’.

It’s not a song that describes his aversion to all things religious. He avoided going to church in high school as he knew that a former girlfriend was likely to be there.

2020 is shaping up to be a busy year for Mitchell Tenpenny.

CLARK MANSON – ‘DRUNK WIVES MATTER’

Another young independent US Country singer. There is a very long production line of talent waiting in the wings.

This guy’s from Ohio and relocated to Nashville in 2013 to record and release his album ‘Runnin’ With The Night’. He also released a 5-song EP in 2014.

He’s back in Ohio now and ‘Drunk Wives Matter’ is his new single.

KELSEA BALLERINI – ‘la

Kelsea has a new album, ‘kelsea’ coming on 20th March. ‘la’ is the third track released from it.

It was written whilst she was sitting on a bathroom floor in Los Angeles at a time when she was “inspired and terrified, on top of the world and filled to the brim with anxiety”.

JEFFREY EAST – ‘BRIGHTEST STARS’

Texan Jeffrey East is signed to EastNashville Records. He has the best beard in this week’s line up and is certainly a contender for the best song.

He’s been writing for Dierks Bentley, Joe Diffie and Rascal Flatts. ‘Brightest Stars’ is a song that really ought to raise his profile.

JASON BLAINE – ‘DRINK TOO MUCH’

A veteran on the Canadian Country Music scene, Ontario native Jason Blaine has been recording music since 2007, and has 6 studio albums and an EP under his belt.

‘Drink Too Much’ is his first new music for 2 years, and his many Canadian fans will be hoping for a new album project in 2020.
