Time once again for our selection of new releases that we think you should be checking out…
VINCE GILL – ‘I DON’T WANNA RIDE THE RAILS NO MORE’
The new album ‘Okie’ will be released at the end of August, his first for three years. He’s a busy guy having just completed a month long European tour with The Eagles, and he’s now back in Nashville for the build-up to his 15th studio album.
This is the latest taster from that album, an acoustic ballad that tells the story of a weary freight train hopper.
CORB LUND – ‘COVER OF THE ROLLING STONE‘
There is a ground swell of support in Nashville for Canadian country singer Corb Lund. His face will be all over AmericanaFest in September and he has a new eagerly-anticipated EP ‘Cover Your Tracks’, coming September 13th. This is the first taster. A duet with Hayes Carll…
AMY SPEACE – ‘ME AND THE GHOST OF CHARLEMAGNE’
Folk/Country combine for Nashville-based Amy Speace’s latest release. It’s a gorgeous piano ballad that is the title track of her new album, which will be with us in September.
She’s paying us a visit in the UK shortly. She will be appearing at the Green Note in London on 4th September.
TAYLOR ACORN – ‘RED WHITE
If you were constructing a song that has all the ingredients for Country radio, the new single from Nashville-based Taylor Acorn would be the end result. Catchy, bouncy and infectious.
It’s high time we had another Taylor on the charts!
WILLIAM CLARK GREEN – ‘THE ONE I WAS THEN‘
A new web-based music delivery concept called ‘The Next Waltz’ has been launched by Austin singer-songwriter Bruce Robinson. Its purpose is to showcase new music from artists who pass through the studio in Lockhart Texas.
William Clark Green passed through recently, and recorded this fine acoustic ballad that fully deserves a spot in our highlights list.
FILMORE – ‘OTHER GIRL‘
2018’s Buckle and Boots breakthrough artist Filmore is back with a new single ‘Other Girl’.
He’s not quite broken through on the radio charts yet but this might just do it for him. His streaming stats are impressive and he’s got a big future ahead for sure.
DALTON DOMINO – ‘CHEAP SPANISH WINE‘
We have been championing the music of Dalton Domino since we were blown away by ‘Corners’ in 2017. ‘Cheap Spanish Wine’ is the latest single from the Texas singer-songwriter from his album ‘Songs From The Exile’.
BILLY CURRINGTON – ‘DETAILS‘
We have been highlighting artists who haven’t got the luxury of a record deal with a major label. It’s time to move into the mainstream world with the latest single release from Billy Currington. His last hit ‘Do I Make You Wanna’ was in 2016 and he hasn’t released an album since 2015, so it’s great to finally hear some new music from Billy.
‘Details’ was written by Mark Trussell, Nicole Galyon and Steven Lee Olsen, and hopefully will herald a new album from the multi hit-maker.
THE HIGHWOMEN – ‘REDESIGNING WOMEN‘
The new super-group composed of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires performed for the first time at Loretta Lynn’s 87th birthday in April at the Bridgestone Arena.
It’s a project that seems to have great durability and industry significance. The ladies are releasing their debut album on 6th September – ‘Redesigning Women’ is the first taster from it.
