MADDIE AND TAE – ‘WOMAN YOU GOT’
The new song from multi-platinum selling artists Maddie and Tae is dedicated to their husbands. They class it as the most autobiographical song they have ever written, and it’s a light-hearted take upon their imperfections and habits.
They enlisted the help of Laura Veltz and Mark Holman, and apart from the Christmas project released last November, it’s their first new music since their excellent ‘The Way It Feels’ album, which was one of our favourites from last year.
The girls never disappoint. We suspect another chart hit beckons.
JAKE MORRELL – ‘THIS HOUSE’
It seems an absolute age since we stood watching Jake Morrell open up The Long Road Festival in 2019 with a storming set.
The country boy from Norfolk returns with another classic, written with Sue McMillan and produced by Dan Weller. It’s the story of the house that he lived in with his loving and supportive family during his formative years.
MEGHAN PATRICK – ‘NEVER GIVING UP ON YOU’
Canadian artist Meghan Patrick has released another tune that we just had to highlight on our weekly list. We loved ‘My First Car’ last September and also love her new track ‘Never Giving Up On You’.
She’s a two-time CCMA Female Artist of the Year and has shared the stage with Old Dominion and Lady A previously.
ANNA VAUS – ‘GIRL IN A BAR’
Anna’s single ‘In Bloom’ made our top 20 list of the best under-the-radar-tracks of 2020, and she’s back with another song that might just make our list for 2021. Having said that, the contrast couldn’t be greater. This girl is certainly showing versatility.
‘Girl In A Bar’ is the lead track from her forthcoming EP which will be with us shortly, and was written following a dream that she had dated Harry Styles and he broke up with her! The co-writer was Luke Laird, who she describes as one of her heroes.
Anna Vaus is quickly becoming a name to watch out for.
JUSTIN MOORE – ‘SHE AIN’T MINE NO MORE’
Justin is gearing up for the release for his ‘Straight Outta The Country’ album on 23rd April, and his recent output has been very impressive.
‘She Ain’t Mine No More’ was written with Paul Di Giovanni, Chase McGill and Jeremy Stover, and is very retro-country with a classic tale. The album has 8 tracks and features songs penned by veteran songwriters Rhett Atkins and Casey Beathard.
TRISTON MAREZ – ‘HITS A LITTLE DIFFERENT’
It’s only been a couple of weeks since we highlighted Triston Marez on our highlights list. We loved his collaboration with Ronnie Dunn, and we now have another taster from his new debut album.
‘Hits a Little Different’ relates to becoming intoxicated in a bar, not from the liquor, but from the lady he has just met.
The album will be with us on 16th April via Torres Music Group and contains 12 tracks, 9 of which were written by Marez. We reckon that this will be one of the most anticipated records of the year so far.
ROSS COPPERMAN – ‘ELECTRICITY’
To date, Ross Copperman has found greater success writing songs than performing them, but that might be about to change.
His career hits as a songwriter read like an A-Z of popular modern day country music. 26 #1 records including both of Blake Shelton’s recent collaborations with Gwen Stefani, Kenny Chesney’s ‘Get Along’, Brett Eldredge’s ‘Wanna Be That Song’ and ‘Love Someone’, without forgetting Keith Urban’s ‘Break On Me’ and ‘John Cougar, John Deere, John 3’16′. The man’s a hit machine.
‘Electricity’ is one of two tracks that Copperman has released. Also check out ‘Somewhere There’s a Light’.
RORY FEEK FT. TRISHA YEARWOOD – ‘MET HIM IN A MOTEL ROOM’
The first taster from Rory Feek’s new album ‘Gentle Man’, coming 18th June. ‘Met Him In A Motel Room’ was penned by Feek, and was originally included on Trisha’s 2014 album ‘Prizefighter’.
The album project is his first as a solo artist and the first he has recorded without his late wife Joey. It’s the follow up to 2016’s ‘Hymns That Are Important To Us’, which was a huge commercial hit. He’s recorded 14 songs for the new project, and we are sure that his many fans will be waiting to embrace his new music.
MAGGIE ROSE – ‘WHAT ARE WE FIGHTING FOR’
Maggie’s third album ‘Have a Seat’ will be released on 20th August via Starstruck Records, and we have been treated to a second taster from the record with ‘What Are We Fighting For’.
It builds to a rousing, anthemic chorus with harmonies from Karita Law and Shanay Johnson.
She appeared at the Grand Ole Opry at the end of January and performed this song. Check out the video of her powerful performance…
