DUSTIN LYNCH & CHRIS LANE – ‘TEQUILA ON A BOAT’

We think Dustin Lynch and Chris Lane will own this year’s contest for ‘summer anthem’. ‘Tequila On a Boat’, written by Hillary Lindsey, Justin Ebach and Matt Alderman, is so instantly catchy that it’s a sure-fire bet for chart dominance.

A day on the water with the sun beating down… What’s not to like?

SUMMER DEAN & COLTER WALL – ‘YOUR’E LUCKY SHE’S LONELY’

We guess that Colter Wall will be more familiar here in the UK than Summer Dean, who has made a name for herself in Texas but has only previously released one EP. Her debut album ‘Bad Romantic’ will be released on 27th August and the taster track was co-penned and co-performed by Colter Wall.

She’s opened for him in the States previously, and this steel-infused track will be popular with the traditional country crowd.

BROOKE LYNN – ‘LAYERS’

We featured Brooke Lynn’s music at the beginning of the year, and it’s time to catch up with her again with the release of the second track from her ‘Hellfire Holy Water’ EP.

‘Layers’ is a gorgeous mid-tempo ballad and follows ‘Red Eyes’, which was released in April.

STEPHANIE QUAYLE – ‘WE BUY GOLD’

Stephanie has been releasing singles that deal with love and the journey that follows. ‘We Buy Gold’ follows ‘By Heart’ and ‘Wild Frontier’ .

The track was written by Park Chisolm, Mark Irwin and Anna Vaus, who has featured regularly on our weekly lists in her own capacity as a singer-songwriter. The song was written and recorded a few years back but wasn’t quite right – we are loving the new version!

CODY JOHNSON & WILLIE NELSON – ‘SAD SONGS AND WALTZES’

The song is a Willie classic, originally appearing on his 1973 album ‘Shotgun Willie’, but it has been re-recorded by Cody Johnson and is the first track from his new album, due to be released in the Autumn.

Cody has invited Willie along to sing along, and the result is a magical slice of traditional country music.

ZACH WILLIAMS – ‘THE STRUGGLE’

Zach Williams has found fame in the Gospel genre, but his music is just as relevant in the world of country music.

This song is about personal stories of redemption, and was the first song he ever wrote after becoming a Christian. His current radio single ‘Less Like Me’ tops the Christian Charts and he’s previously won two Grammys and multiple Dove Awards.

SEAN MCCONNELL  – ‘PRICE OF LOVE’

The second release from Sean McConnell’s new album ‘A Horrible Beautiful Dream’ is a song that deals with the price one pays having fully committed to someone you are unable to see. In his case, as a result of separation caused by touring.

The album will be released on 6th August and features collaborations with Natalie Hemby, The Wood Brothers and  Dan Tyminski.

CHARLI ADAMS FT. RUSTON KELLY – ‘HEADSPACE’

It’s certainly been a week for collaborations, and Charli Adams has teamed up with Ruston Kelly for this dreamy pop flavoured track which will be part of her album ‘Bullseye’, released on 16th July.

She wrote the song a month before she was invited to open for Kelly in 2019. She performed it on that tour and he expressed his love for it. Therefore, it seemed natural for her to invite him to record the track as a duet when preparing her new album.

LUKAS NELSON AND PROMISE OF THE REAL – ‘LEAVE ‘EM BEHIND’

One of the highly anticipated new album releases will be ‘A Few Stars Apart’ from US country-rock band Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real, who wowed C2C in 2019.

The album will be with us on 11th June, and the second taster is ‘Leave ‘Em Behind’ which tells us to leave behind someone who is creating a harmful or abusive relationship. The album has been produced by Dave Cobb and was recorded live on an 8 Track Tape at Nashville’s legendary RCA Studio A.
