New Release Round-Up: September 29th

LifeInASong_UK

We are now definitely in high season for new music. It’s coming thick and fast, folks! We may need more than a single update…..

COLTER WALL AND THE SCARY PRARIE BOYS – ‘BOB FUDGE’/’HAPPY REUNION’

An early winner for the “it doesn’t get more country than that” award. Colter Wall is back. Back in the day when we all visited record stores to pick up our 7” singles, there would be the occasional ‘double A side’, and this is Colter’s homage to those halcyon days.

It’s also available in blue vinyl. Now that brings back a few memories…

JAKE OWEN – ‘BELIEVE’

Trust me. It works. Cher’s ‘Believe’ reincarnated as a bluegrass country song. Jake’s contribution to LGBTQ community’s Pride Month. He said that he Googled for “the gayest song of all time” and put a country spin on it. He also said that this is the first of a series.

TRAVIS DENNING – ‘HEARTBEAT OF A SMALL TOWN

Travis has been prolific in the past few weeks with new music. ‘After A Few’ is gaining traction on Country Radio but we already have a new contender, ‘Heartbeat Of A Small Town’, in it’s wake. Hometown for Travis is Warner Robins, Georgia, and it was a return visit that has inspired him to pen this one.

LAUREN ALAINA – ‘GETTING GOOD’

Fresh from her UK appearances at Dixie Fields and Nashville Meets London, Lauren Alaina drops a new single that sounds like a future smash. She’s currently raising her profile on ‘Dancing With The Stars’ in the US, and we predict big things for this one.

JESS AND THE BANDITS – ‘LOVE DON’T GIVE A DAMN’

Kicking off their UK tour tomorrow, Jess And The Bandits have released another new track titled ‘Love Don’t Give A Damn’, following ‘Don’t Let Me Take You Home’. One of the best songs the group have released to date, this newbie will no doubt be a huge hit with fans on the road over the next week or so…

KALIE SHORR – ‘LULLABY’

Kalie’s new album ‘Open Book’ has just been released and this is a taster from it. She’s a singer-songwriter from Maine who now plies her trade in Nashville. It’s her first full-length album following on from her EP ‘Awake’, which came out last year.

‘Lullaby’ fools you into believing it’s a soft ballad before it develops dramatically into a power anthem.

AGS CONNOLLY – ‘SAY IT OUT LOUD’

It goes without saying that anything Ags releases has our approval! His third album ‘Wrong Again’ will be with us on November 1st and we’re loving this one, as well as ‘Wrong Again (You Lose A Life)’ which is also worth checking out.

Quality UK Americana/Country from the man from Oxfordshire.

CARLY PEARCE & LEE BRICE – ‘I HOPE YOU’RE HAPPY NOW’

A definite contender for new release of the week – Carly and Lee’s heartfelt duet about a breakup. It’s going to be on Carly’s new album, which should be with us before the end of the year.

Lee Brice got the call to be on the duet whilst he was on the road touring. He just happens to have a studio on the road. As you do! Also worth noting that one of the co-writers on this is Luke Combs, which tells you everything you need to know.

CAITLYN SMITH – ‘PUT ME BACK TOGETHER’

Caitlyn Smith’s second album ‘Supernova’ is due to be released early 2020 and the atmospheric ballad ‘Put Me Back Together’ is an early sample of what’s in store. She’s out on the road with Little Big Town from January through May, so expect plenty of exposure for the new material.

SCOTTY JAMES – ‘CHAMPAGNE’

This week’s Country dance floor-filler award has to go to Canadian Scotty James with his latest, ‘Champagne’…
