This year’s Country2Country festival will give fans the opportunity to see Sarah Darling, who is performing on the Big Entrance Stage at the O2 on Saturday 12th March and Sunday 13th March!
Called ‘a sophisticated songwriter with a crisp, powerful voice’ by The New York Times, Darling pairs her uncanny knack for songwriting with her passion for performing on stage. Making a name for herself with several appearances on national television in the US, Sarah has been able to open for, and even perform with some of the best in the business. Most notably, she opened for Carrie Underwood at the Iowa State Fair, and she also performed ‘Whiskey Lullaby’ with Brad Paisley at the Grand Ole Opry.
After finishing in the top 3 on The Entertainer in the US, Sarah Darling went into the studio in the summer of 2008 to record her debut album, Every Monday Morning, which was released on June 16, 2009. Her single ‘Jack of Hearts’ successfully made its debut on Country Music Television’s top 20 countdown. A second album, Angels & Devils, was released on February 15, 2011, following its lead single “Something to Do With Your Hands” and a digital single release of the U2 cover “With or Without You”.
In January 2013, Sarah released a stunning 4-track EP, following the release of the single ‘Home To Me’ which hit the top 40 on the Billboard Country Singles Chart, peaking at #34. The single is a truly gorgeous pop-country tune, combining an incredibly catchy melody with Sarah’s angelic, effortless vocals. Beautifully written too; It certainly deserved to be a bigger hit than it ever was.
Be sure to check out this EP, you won’t be disappointed. ‘How Dare You’ is another intricately written, up-beat track which could easily fit onto a country radio playlist. Think ‘Can’t Shake You’ by Gloriana….not far off. The standard is maintained with ‘You Don’t Have To Be Lonely Tonight’, where the tempo is slowed down a notch. Another melodically beautiful track, showcasing Sarah’s impressive vocal range. 3 songs here that deserved so much more recognition than they ever received, followed by a lovely acoustic rendition of ‘Home To Me’.
You won’t want to miss Sarah at C2C this year, she is bound to impress with her wonderful collection of songs and her incredible vocal ability. Make sure you go and check out her shows; she will be on the Big Entrance Stage at 1pm on both Saturday 13th March and Sunday 13th March.
