You know exactly what you’re going to get with some artists, and Kristian is Mr Consistent. His debut solo album ‘Southern Gravity’ was full of uplifting, pop-infused anthems, and the lead single ‘Trailer Hitch’ is still a regular feature in our playlists here at YLIAS; an absolute classic that never got the recognition it deserved. ‘Sing Along’ continues the jolly, feel-good vibe and does exactly what it says on the tin. One listen and you’ll have it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.
But despite the catchy, infectious style, it’s written from the perspective of someone looking back on a lost love, hoping that they have been left with a “love song bouncing around [their] heart”. “When you think about me girl, I hope you sing along”. It’s a typical Kristian Bush anthemic chorus, tailor made for his superb live shows. The festival crowds will love it, and it deserves to be a massive success.
There’s a dominant drum beat throughout with a killer electric guitar solo that adds such power and energy to the track. The production is sublime, as you would expect from someone who is dabbling in that side of the industry himself, currently working with Lindsay Ell on her upcoming album. Kristian is still looking for that big hit to fully propel his solo career, and this could certainly be the one if the likes of Bobby Bones continue to support it.
Crank it up and Sing Along!!
