It’s been a big year for the Remember Monday girls.
Charlotte, Holly and Lauren have firmly established themselves as one of the
very best live acts on the British scene with joyous main stage performances at
Millport, The Long Road and Dixie Fields, just to name a few. Eyebrows were
raised when they released the infectious ‘Drive’ last year, and their devoted
following have been awaiting the follow-up ever since. Well, in the last couple
of weeks, the girls have treated us to not one, but two brand new recordings of
songs that have become fan favourites at the live shows, ‘Home To Me’ and ‘Find
My Way’.
‘Home To Me’ exposes their vulnerable side beautifully with a stripped-back, acoustic feel, allowing their gorgeous harmonies to be at the forefront. Tim Prottey-Jones took the reigns with the production for both new releases, and there’s a lovely balance between the delicacy of ‘Home To Me’ and the more up-beat, anthemic ‘Find My Way’. There’s a stunning rawness to ‘Home To Me’; when you’ve got three vocalists as talented as Charlotte, Holly and Lauren, there really isn’t much that needs to be added to the mix. Beautifully written too; reminiscing about some of their great adventures, only to conclude “anywhere you ain’t by my side ain’t home to me”. Homegrown British country at its best.
‘Find My Way’ followed, and there’s now a music video that you can check out, featuring footage from their day at Dixie Fields Festival. In contrast to its predecessor, there’s a much more pop country-influenced, mainstream sound. It’s such a fun, uplifting track with a really cool groove. Always a highlight in their live shows, it’s got a big singalong-inducing chorus that will no doubt be a staple on their set lists for many years to come. Take a look at the video below…
