Surrey-born singer-songwriter Beth Keeping released a new music video ‘Naked’ on Valentine’s Day to add a deeper side to an ordinarily commercial day. The song, her third single from her debut EP ‘Fool’, is about being vulnerable with the people you love.
Keeping says: “I wanted to help people reflect on what it’s like to be completely yourself with someone you love – a friend, family member or a partner – away from the noise and expectations of the world. I also wanted to inspire people who find Valentine’s Day difficult because they’re not in a romantic relationship.”
The video is a timelapse painting by artist Chloe Hulsman, who was born in Canada and currently lives in South London. “Chloe has done an incredible job of bringing ‘Naked’ to life. We discussed the theme of the song and shared some ideas together, but I wanted her to give her freedom to paint something inspired by the song in the moment. She went off to her studio and surprised me a few hours later with the final result!”
‘Naked’ is the latest single from Keeping’s debut EP ‘Fool’, which came out in April last year and reached #3 in the iTunes singer-songwriter chart. She is currently in the studio recording new music, which is due for release in May later this year.
You can catch Beth live on Thursday 28th February at the Write Like A Girl showcase at new music venue Live at the Camden Chapel. She is also playing at the Half Moon, Putney, on Monday 4th March.
