Emerging singer, songwriter and performer Clara Bond’s new single “Does Your Girlfriend Know You’re Single” is to be released next Friday 17th May. Written by Clara Bond, the song is the first track to be released from ‘Crown’, Bond’s highly anticipated new EP follow up to her 2016 release ‘Out of Towners.’
Of the first single, Bond comments “I went on a date with a guy that I never thought that much of, and then 6 months later I saw he was celebrating his one year anniversary. I’m no mathematician but I can certainly work that one out.”
This new track will be the first single from Clara’s EP ‘Crown’ to be released in September, with other singles to be released over the coming months. Since her previous ‘Out of Towners’ EP, Clara has spent much time on the live circuit, including supporting Lindsay Ell, Joey Landreth, Wildwood Kin’s UK tour and a spot on the Country 2 Country festival – a slot that lead to a nomination for ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ in the British Country Music Awards.
She then went on to support Newton Faulkner and to film an ‘Under the Apple Tree’ session with Radio 2’s Whispering Bob Harris, which he called “One of my favourite Under the Apple Tree session performances ”. These slots enabled her to develop her skills, both as a creator and craftsman of music, and as a captivating live performer – skills that she has brought into the latest project. However, Clara is not an artist that can be pigeon-holed into one genre and is an artist with broad appeal, having been asked by BBC Introducing to record and film a full-band live session series for the entire ‘Out of Towners’ EP, she has taken an increasingly broad approach to the genre with the new release.
Having built a loyal and dedicated fanbase with her last release, Clara is excited to take her fans further with her music, exploring her sound, while retaining her core outstanding vocal ability and a refreshingly honest and real approach to storytelling, delivered with a unique personality and flair. Speaking of the EP, Clara says “This feels like a huge leap for me. I’ve finally found a sound that feels completely my own. I genuinely couldn’t be more proud of this project and the people that were involved in it.”
This first single is just the start of this new project and is set to position Clara as one to watch for the duration of 2019.
