SPOTLIGHT: Denny Strickland Announces UK Tour & New Single ‘California Dreamin’

One of the most exciting new talents in Nashville, Denny Strickland, has revealed his new radio single will be the title track from his debut album ‘California Dreamin’, and announced two full band shows in London and Manchester this summer. Check out the track here via Soundcloud / Spotify / Apple Music / Amazon, and live dates below:

June 16th – Under The Bridge, London (Nashville Nights)
June 23rd – Buckle & Boots Festival, Manchester

The song about the mesmerising powers of a West Coast girl who proves more than hard to forget is right in Denny’s wheelhouse as a self-professed romantic who wears his feelings on his chest. The title track of his latest album, he penned the song with Troy Johnson and Henry Jack Williams, and admits he finds himself almost getting lost in the feeling of it sometimes when he’s onstage performing it for the fans.

“’California Dreamin’ is one of those songs that paints a picture of a real place and a real feeling,” explains Denny about the new tune.” When I’m on stage I’m truly believing every word I’m singing and the world I’ve created through my music.”

Produced by Big & Rich producer Sean Giovanni, the song follows up Denny’s last single, ‘We Don’t Sleep,’ which racked up over half a million streams on Spotify and reached the Top Twenty on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart in 2017 and included an accompanying video which spent three weeks at No. 1 on CMT Music’s 12 Pack Countdown, with over 700,000 views to date on Youtube.

The Arkansas native with equal love for country and 80’s rock has opened for everyone from Maddie & Tae and the Kentucky Headhunters to Jamey Johnson and 3 Doors Down, and is excited to take his new music to the fans in 2018. Recently selected by Rolling Stone in October as one of the “Ten Artists You Need To Know,” Strickland describes his hybrid style and philosophy towards his music, saying “I’m very open-minded. Anytime someone wants to talk about the old school or the new school, I’m very intrigued, especially when I’m talking to other artists. I want to know what they’re passionate about, what drives them. Because I know what drives me. “There are so many interesting things out there with technology and the studio. But I love to tell stories. Country is known for that – that’s one genre where you can tell a story.”

Stay tuned for the latest chapter in Denny’s own story – there’s sure to be plenty to come for this talented young artist who leaves it all out on the stage night after night.
