[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Shires announce ‘Echo’ as the third single to be released from their top 3 album ‘Accidentally on Purpose’. The track is the follow up to their single ‘Sleepwalk’ which was A list on Radio 2.
The contagious singalong single has already become a firm fan favourite, with fans chanting the chorus during their live performances.
“Echo is a definitely one of our more Country-pop tracks and inspired by the fun we had in Nashville. It’s the sort of song you have blaring in the car with the soft top down, singing along at the top of your voice.
There’s a line in the song about ‘Ripples in a Coffee Cup’ which is a reference to that famous scene in Jurassic Park, but also sums up the feel good vibes of this track – it’s just echoes around you until you sing along.” Ben and Crissie, The Shires[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”17128″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”http://millportcountrymusic.com”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The band release the single ahead of their appearance next month at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park, where they will be supporting Michael Bublé (13th July). Further cementing their place as the UK’s most successful Country Music act, it has been announced that Shania Twain has handpicked the band to appear as special guests at her UK Arena tour, beginning September. The tour will follow a headline appearance at Country Music festival, The Long Road.
The release of ‘Echo‘ continues their incredible success, with their third album ‘Accidentally On Purpose‘ entering the UK Album Chart at Number 3. Pushing George Ezra to 4th place, The Shires entered the chart above rapper ‘Nines’, ‘Sting & Shaggy’ and American rock band ‘Black Stone Cherry’. The album is now on track to become their third gold album in 4 years – an accolade in the UK shared only by TV driven acts, including One Direction, Olly Murs and Little Mix.
With over 55 reviews of the album, including 4 Star reviews, and a historic performance at the Royal Albert Hall under their belt – which saw them become the first UK Country act to ever headline the venue – The Shires, are leading the charge for the Country music takeover here in the UK.
Recent appearances and coverage include BBC Breakfast, The One Show, BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, ITV Zoe Ball on Sunday and Lorraine.
With Album of the Week on Radio 2 and sessions on BBC 5 Live, Radio 4 and BBC London, their single ‘Guilty‘ was the most played single on Magic and the 2nd most played song on BBC Radio 2.
